Last year, I told you about 5 Cruises You Should Have on Your Bucket List. Now, I’m adding five more!
Last year’s list included:
- Nile River
- Transatlantic
- Alaska
- Hawaii
- World Cruise
While I haven’t crossed them all off yet, I did cruise Hawaii in 2014 and have booked an Alaskan Cruisetour on the Royal Princess for 2020. So what else have I set my sights on?
Northern Lights
I am always in awe of Mother Nature and long to see all the wonderful and beautiful things she can do. Aurora Borealis has to be on the list of every person that loves beautiful things.
Viking Ocean Cruises offers “In Search of Northern Lights” cruises from January through March. You’ll be in awe of nature for 13 days, with 6 guided tours of 2 countries. The temperatures are low, but excitement should be high as you try to catch the Northern Lights in action and push yourself past your comfort zone. I know it’s not the traditional Caribbean cruise, but I plan to cross this off my list.
Antarctica
What’s in Antarctica? Penguins! Here’s another place to enjoy nature. The untouched beauty of the landscape and all the wildlife you only get to see on Discovery Channel. This would truly be an adventure cruise. Seabourn offers Antarctica & Patagonia itineraries that will give you 21 days of adventure and includes stops in Puerto Montt, Punta Arenas, Ushuaia and the Falk Islands in South America. I’ll need to do this one before I get too old to really appreciate the activities offered.
Fiji
What did you envision when you read the word Fiji? I immediately think of warm tropical breezes, sand between my toes, sun on my face and a drink in my hand. This would be the ultimate trip to inhale and slowly exhale. Are you there with me? Royal Caribbean has a 14 Night South Pacific & Fiji cruise that visits Suva and Lautoka in the Fiji Islands as well as New Caledonia, Vanuatu and the Loyalty Islands. This cruise is round-trip out of Sydney, which brings me to my next bucket list cruise.
Australia
I have always wanted to visit Australia but have been intimidated by the super-long flight. Twenty-one hours or more on a flight seems like a lot. Oh, the sacrifices we make to scratch that travel itch! ? I would love to hug a Koala, visit a Kangaroo sanctuary, see a Tasmanian Devil, and visit the Great Barrier Reef. Carnival Australia offers an 8 Night Great Barrier Reef cruise out of Sydney.
Mediterranean
The Meditteranean has so much to offer. The people, food, history, and culture. There’s so much to do, see and eat. I think I’d need to do several Meditteranean cruises to ensure I’ve done it all. Holland America is offering a Best of the Meditteranean cruise that will hit popular ports like Barcelona, Marseille, Monte Carlo, Livorno, and Civitavecchia.
What’s on your bucket list?
Each of these sounds intriguing! I would like to see each place mentioned. Great suggestion.
