It’s been a while, huh?
A lot has been going on so here’s a quick rundown of what’s happened this year. Ready?
SORORITY NATIONAL CONFERENCE – JULY
I am a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. I was inducted at Johnson C. Smith University in the Fall of 1992 with these two wonderful ladies. Last year we celebrated our silver anniversary with a beautiful photo shoot.
We have a biennial national conference in July. This year it was in New Orleans. I ate well and had a great time fellowshipping with my sorors.
FAMILY CRUISE – JULY
I flew home on a Sunday from New Orleans and went to work for 4 days before I left again for my family cruise.
I was also responsible for the execution of a major project at work in those 4 days, so hectic was the word of the day.
We went on the Carnival Glory out of Miami. We stayed at the Miami Airport Hilton – Blue Lagoon. My dad lives in Miami, so we always take him to dinner when in town. We went to Bahama Breeze. We really enjoyed the food and will go back next year. Our cruise went to Grand Cayman, Mahogany Bay, Belize, and Cozumel.
STEPHANIE MILLS CONCERT – AUGUST
I am a music lover and I love, love, love live music. I will pretty much go to a concert of any of my favorite artists. Mom, on the other hand, is very picky about who she goes to see. I’ve offered her Anita Baker and Anthony Hamilton (both of whom she loves dearly) and she declined. But when I said Stephanie Mills, she lit up like a Christmas tree. Stephanie was in Atlanta, so it was a nice weekend trip – 4 days after the last one. So, yes, I did it again; went to work for 4 days and headed out on my next adventure. We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites on Bobby Brown Parkway because it wasn’t too far from the venue. Stephanie showed out!
Busy summer, huh? I’m tired just recounting it! But I had so much fun!
I am currently at my annual Christmas getaway in Myrtle Beach, SC. We have a timeshare and we love coming here. I’m currently recovering from surgery and couldn’t think of a better place to relax and heal.
What have I done cruise-related? I booked two cruises! I booked the MSC Seaside for July 2019 and my bucket list Alaska Cruisetour on the Royal Princess for 2020! I can’t wait!
That was the year in review! More details later!
Great post Ola! I need to invest in those packing cubes! I wish I knew about those during my back to back travels in July!
That sounds like a great summer! I want to go on a cruise this summer. Do you use a travel agent or book online?
I book directly with the cruise line. I generally call to make sure I can get all of my wuestions answered. Some lines will assign you a personal vacation planner. That’s a great feature because you can always call or email just one person instead of getting multiple people through a general customer service line.
What a Very nice page!! My first time touring thru your adventures.
God Bless!!
